Kweli Energy installs 2.2 kWp hybrid solar power systems in Tororo, Uganda. Lithium battery storage for homes with reduced grid dependence and reliable water pumping.

Kweli Energy has completed the design, supply, installation and commissioning of a 2.2 kWp hybrid solar power stabilisation system in Aturukuk, Rubongi, Tororo District, Uganda.

The system was installed for a residential property to address unreliable grid supply and provide dependable power for household use and water pumping.

The Challenge: Unstable Grid Power and Water Pumping Needs

The residence was experiencing frequent power cuts and low-voltage supply. Essential appliances could not run consistently, and the client required a reliable solution to pump water from a newly drilled deep well.

The well also serves members of the surrounding community, making stable power critical for both household and shared use.

The goal was to stabilise supply, reduce grid dependence and ensure cost-effective operation of the water pump.

The Kweli Solution: 2.2 kWp Hybrid Solar System with Lithium Battery Storage

Kweli Energy designed and installed a 2.2 kWp hybrid solar power system integrated with 10 kWh of lithium battery storage and a 5 kVA smart hybrid inverter.

The system operates on solar during the day and switches to battery during low generation or grid outages, maintaining stable power for the home and water pump.

The installation includes:

  • 2.2 kWp solar PV array
  • 10 kWh lithium battery storage
  • 5 kVA LV smart hybrid inverter
  • Wi-Fi remote monitoring

The system was configured to prioritise household loads and water pumping while reducing reliance on the grid.

What the System Powers

The hybrid system supports:

  • Household lighting
  • Refrigerator and kitchen appliances
  • Water heater
  • Deep well water pump
  • Other essential residential loads

Measured Results

Since commissioning, the system delivers:

  • Over 2 MWh of solar energy annually
  • Approximately 90% reduction in grid electricity consumption
  • Around 95% reduction in power interruptions

The result is reliable household power and consistent water pumping without heavy dependence on grid supply.
