6.5 kWp Captive Solar Power System Installed at Harvesters Christian School, Terekeka – South Sudan | Kweli Energy
Published by Kweli Energy admin on
Kweli Energy has completed the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of a 6.5 kWp captive off-grid solar power system at Harvesters Christian School in Terekeka, Central Equatoria State, South Sudan.
The project provides reliable, self-sustaining power to support daily school operations in an area without access to grid electricity.
The Challenge: No Grid Access and Limited Power for Learning
The school had no access to grid power. This limited classroom activities, computer use and administrative operations.
Lighting, printing, networking equipment and other essential systems depended on small backup setups that were unreliable and difficult to manage.
The school required a dependable off-grid power solution that could operate independently and support continuous learning.
The Kweli Solution: 6.5 kWp Off-Grid Captive Solar System
Kweli Energy designed and delivered a 6.5 kWp captive solar power system integrated with 20 kWh of lithium battery storage and an 8 kVA smart hybrid inverter.
The system operates fully off-grid, generating and storing its own energy to power the school throughout the day and evening.
The installation includes:
- 6.5 kWp solar PV array
- 20 kWh lithium battery storage
- 8 kVA LV smart hybrid inverter
- Wi-Fi remote monitoring
The system was sized to prioritise stable power for academic and administrative loads.
What the System Powers
The solar system supports:
- Classroom lighting
- Computers and printers
- Networking equipment
- Administrative office loads
- Essential IT equipment
Measured Impact
The system delivers:
- Approximately 10 MWh of solar energy annually
- Around 6 tonnes of CO₂ reduction per year
- Reliable off-grid power for daily school operations
The result is stable electricity without diesel dependence, enabling consistent teaching, computer use and administrative work.
